I’m Max Potter, and this is my site. Like many reformed geeks, I’ve done my time at a tech support call center, and I’ve heard all the computer questions everyone seems to ask. But now I’m not working for them anymore, and I don’t have to give the same constant advice of “turn it off, unplug it, leave it for 45 seconds, and turn it back on, and see if that helps?” to every computer problem from slow internet to blue screens of death to my personal favorite, a floppy disk (remember those?) in the blu-ray drive. When your business relies on internet and cloud technology, any disruption of service can be damaging to your workflow. Since Google became the number one search engine over a decade ago, it has gradually added more and more services, tools and acquired many others. Google expects too much from their users! As if trying to understand Panda and Google algorithms weren’t hard enough, the common person cannot even get the type of Google tech support they should because the company doesn’t provide these services. With no live customer support, people, Google users, have to depend on chat forums and shoddy articles to find any sort of Google technical support. What a way to do business! Maybe they have more faith in users than actual users do. That’s one way of looking at it at least.
Customer service at Google has been called a safety net for a trapeze act. The net is paramount to the act. It’s an “in case of an emergency” tool. But unlike a true net, Google tech support has a safety net that is full of holes and is made out of cheese. Most people find it infuriating to call the Google tech support phone number at the company’s Mountain View, California headquarters. Calling this number and getting a recording that sends you in a loop is laughable and impossible. It’s like a cruel joke.
But maybe with odd technical support Google is trying to teach people something about themselves. That using Google’s own service, it’s search engine, can help point people in the right direction and get answers to the questions they have instead of relying on tech support Google. There are numerous Google tech support related forums and query sites that are designed to answer many of the questions that users have about Google tools and services. On the technical support google page, there is a community section where you can schmooze with other people online about issues you may be having with Google. This can be helpful because often, someone on the community site will have had the same issue you are having, and that person can tell you how to quickly fix it.
There are a lot of different Google communities that are each targeted to a particular device or issue. There are communities for Google Sitebuilder, DoubleClick for Publishers, Adsense, Blogger, Google News, Google Affiliate Network, Google Play for Developers, Google Talk, and Google Maps for Mobile, to name just a few of the many communities where you can get tech support for Google related issues. I cannot recommend these highly enough.
Another section of the tech support page is the Google Status Dashboard. This is a useful place to check if you are having problems with accessing a Google product. If Google is experiencing a temporary problem with that product, you can check for outages and estimated down times on the Status Dashboard of the Google tech support site.
Google offers many services online, and this includes google tech support. Google technical support can help you with a lot of the issues you might face while using Google services.
